October 2009....

A complete rewire is needed on the tractor, the main ignition, starting and charging circuits are functional, however the ignition isolator key switch needs replacing as its currently hot wired.

 

All the lights need a lot of TLC, the mudguard side lights are missing and the ploughing lamp is the wrong one, the original should be around somewhere. The horn has recently given up too; this will need investigating if it’s a connection, switch or horn issue.

 

So there is a fair bit to do regarding the electrical system and a new wiring loom will be the first purchase.

 

This most likely will be a winter/spring job but we will update as things progress.

 

November 2009....

At a visit to a spares show in Skipton we picked up a new keyed ignition isolator switch which will replace the original LUCAS switch, the old keys fit the new one too.

 

December 2009....

On stripping the front of the tractor and removing the steering box Rich found a metal disc wedged under the battery plate. This turned out to be the cone from the horn. No sign of the nut and as yet, once a replacement is found we can test the horn. A quick test of the horn push button with the multi meter puts its function in doubt.
