After a fair period spent on final cleaning and de-greasing the castings we eventually started on the painting. Over three days the engine, transmission and front axle had four coats of primer followed by three of blue. Then the "dressing" of the engine began.
As the majority of the components were pre-finished this progressed quite quickly, once the fuel injection pump was fitted and all the 'wet' bits were refitted with new gaskets. The new front crankshaft oil seal was fitted also.
