New Parts and Electrical Checks

The parts we ordered at the Tractor show arrived on Tuesday however we received two right hand rear lamps instead of a left and a right hand one. A quick call to the supplier and they sent out a L/H lamp FOC and told us to keep the extra one... bargain. In the parts bundle we got some new front grills and mounting kit and a new toolbox. The wings have been marked for drilling of the mounting holes for the lamps and toolbox. Dad took two trips to RS Components to get some rubber grommets for the cabling - one trip should have been enough but typically the pickers at RS decided that 'rubber' grommets were actually green plastic wire ties... DOH! We started to check the electrical connections in readiness for starting. The instrument panel is almost all back together but we still need to connect the warning lamps. The Footplates are getting towards the top of the priority list so we can run the rear lamp cabling through the clips. The front cowl still remains untouched and will require the most work. We want to send the chrome bits (badges, handles, steering wheel nut etc..) off for re-chroming but we'll need a quote first. Dad wants a new steering wheel but I saw the ones at the Tractor Show and have not been convinced on the quality of them, the old one does look somewhat tatty though.
