Yesterday we dropped off the nose cone with a mate of mine called Tim to get sand blasted as it was proving very difficult to clean up manually as good as we would have liked.
We then took a trip to Marque Restore in nearby Bulkington to drop off the chrome parts for a re-chroming quote. These included the large front badge, two bonnet badges, bonnet handles and fittings and the steering wheel nut. The price was £140, a lot less than feared but still not cheap. The stuff we saw in the workshop however looked good so we left the bits but it will take two months! I'm not sure if we will cope without a steering wheel nut for that long!
Today Dad collected the nose cone from Tim's work and swapped it for a tenner and some Stella Artois... nice. I think some progress has also been made on plugging the many holes in the cowl. Some photos have been uploaded to the 'Tin Work' page.
